Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen (Déclaration des droits de l'homme et du citoyen) was a charter of human liberties. There are 17 articles on the declaration that inspired by the French Revolution. It was adopted by the France's National Assembly. The main principle of the declaration was that "men are born and remain free and equal in rights''(Article 1). It maintained the freedom of speech and liberty of people in France.
